Shaft machining

Shaft machining

In many cases suitably adapted, ready-to-assemble shaft versions contribute to a fast and economic solution due to the omission of an internal production step as the motor can be delivered in your production line without further machining (just-in-time or Kanban etc.). Other special versions such as hollow shaft motors, for example, also allow applications that are not possible with a standard stepper motor.

Depending on the complexity of the machine setting, we offer machining from 1, 25 or 250 pieces.

Shorter shaft

Wherever space conditions are greatly restricted shorter shafts are preferred.

Longer shaft

Longer motor shafts are required when the flange or type of mounting mean direct attachment is not possible.

Bigger shaft

Larger or thicker shafts are used primarily to enable higher radial forces.

D-Cut/Flat-sided shaft

The flat-sided shaft offers higher rotation prevention in comparison to the round shaft, especially when the system is subject to increased requirements through a change in load and direction.

Cross hole

In association with transmission elements such as straight cogged belt pulleys etc. cross holes enable the simple fixing of clamping pins to fulfill higher directional and load change requirements.

Machined shaft

Machined shafts are used primarily to attach toothed wheels, pinion, pulleys etc. with small diameter of bore directly on the motor shaft.

Keyway

A keyway offers higher rotation prevention, especially in comparison to the round shaft, especially when the system is subject to increased requirements through a change in load and direction.

Woodruff keyway

Like the keyway, a Woodruff keyway offers very high rotation prevention, especially when the system is subject to increased requirements through a change in load and direction.

Groove

Motors with shaft groove facilitate the attachment of safety disks for axial fixing of timing pulleys, spur gears etc.

Metric thread

Not only is a thread useful for fixing rotating parts on the motor shaft, but creative constructors also use this low-priced and simple method for the realization of a linear positioning drive with low positioning speed.

Hollow shaft

In addition to the actual drive, hollow shafts also allow the feeding of cables (e.g. current supply for other axes), tubes (fluids or compressed air for pneumatics) or even laser beams through the motor.

Knurling

The most diverse types of knurling according to customer requirements possible from 250 pieces.

Pinion/Cogwheel

Motors with pinion or direct gearing mounted on the motor shaft considerably facilitate direct mounting on existing reduction ratios...

Timing pulley/Direct gearing

Timing pulleys with and without hub or flanged wheels are positive drive systems with high power, low space requirements, low noise, vibration absorbing, lubricant and maintenance-free and also offer a very high efficiency...

Bevel gear

Motors with bevel gear can be installed at an angle of 90° to the load which has an extremely favorable effect on some applications. In addition, they offer large reduction ratios in the smallest space.
Due to their excellent efficiency, they offer a good alternative to worm gears with the required 90° redirection.

Worm gear

Motors with integrated worm gear can be installed at an angle of 90° to the load which has an extremely favorable effect in some applications. In addition, they offer large reduction ratios in the smallest space.

Eccentric plates/Cam plates

Eccentric plates enable a simple rotary motion to be converted into an extremely high resolution, zero backlash and force-dependent lifting motion.
The relevant positioning speeds and travels for this can be simply controlled or regulated via the SMCI positioning controls

Special shaft forms

Square shafts or hexagonal shafts enable either manual or motoric adjustments (width adjustment, height adjustment, tool height adjustment, working width adjustment) ...

Codec discs

Codec discs for optical, magnetic and mechanical sensors and proximity sensors.

Round belt pulley

Round belts offer easy installation with constant tractive forces up to a power of approx. 500W
and are used in preference for driving light to moderately heavy objects.

V-timing belts

In contrast to the flat belts, the effective tension is not transmitted due to friction on the inside of the belt, but due to the friction forces as a result of the high pressure forces on the angled flanks of the V-belt.

Wire cord pulleys

Wire cords and wire cables offer high accuracy and precision for applications such as printers, copying machines, plotters and small medical appliances etc.

Flat belt pulley

Flat belt pulley are suitable for transport or transportation of light to moderately heavy objects in electrical engineering and handling technology transportation of bulk goods or foodstuffs...

Track, friction and drive rollers

The driven track and drive shafts are largely as infeed rollers, feed rollers, friction rollers, braked roller, fixing rollers for belt transport system, track rollers with slots, ...

Chain wheels

Usually the chain wheel is only used where high forces and powers are required. Chain wheels with or without hub, fastening borehole and keyway are available in the sizes 6 and 8mm as well as 1/8“, 1/4“ and 5/8“ divisions to DIN 8187 and DIN 8188 with a wide variety of numbers of teeth.

Handwheels

Handwheels, knobs, knurled knobs, star knobs and palm grips as well as adjustment screws made of different plastic with internal and external thread for manual and adjustment settings are on the rear panel of the motor shaft.

Rocker arm

...with different radii and lever arm lengths, rocker arms, articulated arms or actuating lever generate simple speed and force-dependent adjustment tasks (as pull element and thrust element with adjustable tensile and thrust forces via a rod), tilting movements, oscillating mechanics or oscillating movements with adjustable, high angular resolution...

Special ball bearing

All Nanotec stepper motors and brushless servomotors of the ST.. and DB.. series are equipped with double bearings (with lifetime lubrication and a service temperature of -40°C - + 130°C at low coefficients of friction of approx. 0.001-0.002) of high-quality grooved ball bearings that have a high static and dynamic load capacity...

Lubricants

Lubricants have the task of forming an adequate lubricating film that separates the elements of a roller bearing that roll or slide on one another from one another, consequently preventing direct, metallic contact. The greases used in the Nanotec stepper motors and servomotors...

Seals

All standard ball bearings of Nanotec motors have an integrated ZZ seal which forms an active gap seal with the shoulder of the inner bearing and both make it difficult for dirt particles to penetrate and prevent emergence of the lubricant.

Special flange

Special flange with different mounting boreholes or additional thread for mounting external sensors and switches, suitably adapted centering shoulder in diameter and height...
