Inputs and outputs (I/Os)

With the aid of the digital inputs and outputs on the positioning controls of the SMCI series as well as on the Plug&Drive motors, it is possible to analyze reference switches or limit switches (further information on this is available here). The release and selection of the previously stored travel profiles are also carried out via these inputs. Thus, it is possible to select up to 16 different positions or speeds that can also be linked with one another via NanoPro.

Analysis of the outputs returns the status of the controller:

• Controller processes last command
• Controller ready
• Error
• Reference point reached

External brake

The SMCI47-S-2 control also has an output for a safety brake. Thus, further safety features can be realized.
