Motors with integrated worm gear can be installed at an angle of 90° to the load which has an extremely favorable effect on some applications. In addition, they offer large reduction ratios in the smallest space. Due to the high sliding friction quota the efficiency is rather moderate and, depending on the reduction ratio, lies between 30 and 70%.
From a certain reduction ratio a self-locking torque is created which can be used in vertical movements. It is imperative for the axial forces that occur in worm gears to be absorbed in the bearings and taken into account.

The most varied sizes (module 0.5 - 2 in single-start or two-start version), materials (plastic, brass, bronze, steel - whirled or milled) and types of toothing (pressure angle 15-30°) with or without hub and centering lugs are used here.
Machining is economically possible from an order quantity of 50 pieces.
