Hollow shaft
In addition to the actual drive, hollow shafts also allow the feed-through of cables (e.g. current supply for other axes), tubes (fluids or compressed air for pneumatics) or even laser beams through the motor. In addition, a hollow shaft can accommodate a fine-pitch screw thread or trapezoidal spindle or a ball screw for a linear movement.
The hollow shaft stepper motors are otherwise mechanically interchangeable with standard motors. They can also be manufactured in large quantities with female thread or threaded pins. Single-sided closed hollow shafts or blind holes are also possible.
Hollow shaft versions are already available for selected motors of the standard series as standard. You can find an appropriate overview here
