Brushless DC Motors

The competitive electronically commutated 3-Phase Brushless Motors (EC-Motors) are especially suited for applications requiring high running smoothness and lifetime. The highly energetical permanent magnets allow for a very good degree of efficiency, fast acceleration as well as rotational speeds up to 14.000 revs./min. Three 120° shifted hall sensors electronically provide feedback about the rotor position. Optional encoders up to 1000 imp./rev. allow for high resolution positioning controls.
Advantages
- significantly higher degree of efficiency and power density than induction motors (for the same power, about 35% volume and weight reduction)
- highest lifetime and running smoothness in brushless technics with precision ball bearings.
- the linear torque curve allows for a very big speed range at full motor power and thus better tuning to the required load rations
- reduced electric interference radiation and good thermal properties
- mechanical exchangeability to standard stepper motors means lower construction costs and higher parts diversity
